Hardy County is approximately 2.5 hours from Washington, DC and 3 hours from Pittsburgh and Baltimore.

With I-81 to the east and I-79 to the west, the county is easily accessible. US Route 220, State Route 55 (a.k.a. Corridor H), and State Route 259 traverse the county.
