Hardy County is blessed with beautiful high-mountain scenery but after hiking or biking your way across the county cool down in a refreshing mountain lake or one of our municipal swimming pools.

The Trout Pond Recreation Area has a great beach that’s fun for the whole family. The Forest Service provides a bath house with showers. A fully developed 50-site campground offers all the conveniences for a wonderful outdoor family outing.

If swimming pools are your favorite cooling off places, these can be found at Lost River State Park, Moorefield Town Park, and Wardensville Town Park.

Several of the areas hotels and inns have swimming pools as well so if you love to swim ask about pools when making your reservation.
